A new league leader could emerge this weekend as four teams play in the SBL Premier Division’s sixth round.

Brighton TTC will travel to Fusion on Saturday, a win for the away side could see them move up to second in the league. Will Bayley was instrumental for Brighton as he starred on his debut at the end of January. His player of the match performance saw them beat BATTS 6-1 and record their second win of the season.

Fusion picked up their only win of the season back in October, in their opening tie of the season. Shaquille Webb Dixon, Robert Pelc and Joshua Bruce are expected to make up the home side’s squad.

With the top three teams not in action, victory for BATTS against Urban TTC would put them at the top of the table. Their third win of the season would see them sit atop the division with 12 points, and a strong chance of finishing in a top four position. Shayan Siraj and Josh Bennett who have been consistent names on the team sheet for the club and will to play again this weekend. Ralph Pattison will make up the trio.

Urban have one win so far this year, beating Brighton TTC. Joseph Hunter, who has two player of the match awards this season, will be part of a team including Connor Green, Alim Hirji, James Hamblett for the visiting side.

After all seven Premier Division rounds have been completed the league will split into two divisions, with the top four and bottom three teams making two smaller divisions.

Ormesby’s tie against Ormeau has been postponed with a new date yet to be set. Depending on results elsewhere both teams will have a chance to go to the top of the SBL Premier Division when they play.

The north-east side put in a confident performance against Fusion last weekend. David McBeath was named player of the match as they won 5-2 at home.

Joshua Bruce was Fusion’s only player to pick up a victory, winning both his singles ties. Ormesby stormed into a 3-0 lead before Bruce was able to pull one back for Fusion. It wasn’t enough to halt the impressive looking north-east side as they picked up two more wins to seal the win before Bruce made it 5-2.
