Two clubs have been selected to host the prestigious National Cup competitions this season.

Joola Plymouth (pictured) and BATTS in Harlow will be the respective venues for the Cadet National Cup on the weekend of May 13-14 and the Junior edition of the event on June 17-18.

The Cadet National Cup sees the top 10 boys and girls in the rankings play each other on a round-robin basis to decide the champions. In the Junior National Cup, it is the top eight plus the two leading Cadets.

The venues were chosen after an open tender process in which they outlined how they met the criteria for hosting the competitions.

Table Tennis England is committed to staging the National Cups around the country – last season, the Junior event was held in Birmingham as part of the Commonwealth Games legacy, while the Cadets played at St Neots TTC.

Joola Plymouth last hosted a National Cup – the Junior version – in 2019, while BATTS hosted the competition, then known as the Junior Masters, in 2015.

There were no applications from the north this season, although Halton TTC hosted the Juniors in 2021.
