Do you know someone who has an amazing table tennis story to tell – a tale to inspire others to get involved in the sport?
You have just over a week to nominate them in the Cloudathlete Pride of Table Tennis Awards!
Perhaps you know someone like our Inspirational Story of the Year joint winners from last year’s awards, Andrew Cassy and Adam Sharp.
Andrew and Adam both turned around personal adversity to help others, setting up sessions for people with Parkinson’s and helping others to combat the effects of the condition.
Their stories have received publicity beyond the table tennis community, including Andrew being featured on the Sport Parkinson’s website and Adam’s story being highlighted on the website of Rise, an organisation delivering seated sports.
We’re also looking for nominations in the Lifetime Achievement Award, which recognises a person whose long service of an exceptional and outstanding standard over more than 30 years has made a real and significant difference to table tennis in a club, league county or area.
Do you know someone who could follow in the footsteps of last year’s winner, Dave Graham from Lancashire? Dave, who was described in his nomination as someone who “lives and breathes table tennis” has coached in schools and clubs for years, as well as running local league teams and sitting on the committee for the Liverpool & District League.
He has been instrumental in the progression of junior table tennis in this league, having started the junior league and introduced junior teams.
We’re also seeking nominations in particular for three more categories:
- Partner of the Year
- Technical Official of the Year
- Young Volunteer of the Year
We’re still welcoming nominations in all 12 categories and we’ve extended the deadline for nominations to give you an extra week to get your nominations in.
The deadline is now 5pm on Monday 19 January – so get your nominations in now and honour an amazing volunteer!
