There are just two weeks left to nominate a superstar volunteer for national recognition in the Cloudathlete Pride of Table Tennis Awards 2026!
Do you know an individual who goes the extra mile to help people get the best possible experience in table tennis?
If so, then now is the time to nominate them for a Cloudathlete Pride of Table Tennis Awards Volunteer of the Year Award!
The blue riband award goes to the individual over 25 years of age for their dedication, commitment or impact in/on table tennis on a voluntary basis over the past 12 months. This may take place at a club, local community, league, county, schools county, regional or national level.
Last year’s winner was Andy Chapman, the driving force behind Community Table Tennis Club (CTTC) in Leeds.

Andy was among a small group of people who set up the club in 2023, since when it has grown to become a thriving, diverse and welcoming club for people of all ages, backgrounds and standards.
Andy’s award citation included: “Andy Chapman is the individual most responsible for growing the sport in Leeds. Andy has been right at the centre of the rapid development of CTTC. He has shown enormous dedication, commitment and enthusiasm, and volunteered vast amounts of his time.”
Since winning the award, the club has continued to go from strength to strength and Andy said its achievements in the last year, directly and indirectly are many.
He said: “We now have 108 people in our WhatsApp group and we now have a committee running the club which is really important for sustainability and continuity.
“We have 10 teams in the local league (Leeds), comprising of 47 players, 14 of whom are women and four juniors (the youngest being 11, with more in the pipeline).
“Our first team was promoted into division 1 and we have six teams in division five, which is particularly important, because this is where the real growth happens. The club also hosts the Leeds ParkyPing! team for league matches, a wonderful group of table tennis players who suffer from Parkinson’s disease.
“The Leeds League has grown in from four divisions to five. In my time playing TT, I saw the league shrink from seven divisions to four, so to push it back in the growing direction again is very pleasing.
“Personally, I was awarded the Level 1 Session Coach qualification, and I also completed the new multiball course that’s a part of the new learning programme. We’ll be looking to start another player or two on the coaching path soon.”
On winning the Cloudathlete Volunteer of the Year award for 2025, Andy said: “Winning the award last year was very unexpected and a tremendous honour.
“I’ve only been in the table tennis world for about seven years (I was previously a hockey player), so to start from zero and end up winning a national level award was really incredible.”

If you know anyone who deserves to be recognised, then nominate them before 5pm on Monday 12 January.
There are 11 other categories in the Cloudathlete Pride of Table Tennis Awards, covering officials, clubs, schools, leagues, coaches and more.
