It’s day one of the Mark Bates Ltd Cadet & Under-17 National Championships at David Ross Sports Village in Nottingham.
The Under-17s are in action today, with champions to be crowned in Boys’ Singles, Girls’ Singles and three doubles competitions.

7.25pm: Our last champions of the day have been crowned – it’s Sienna Jetha & Soraya Rahmani-Walentynska winning the Girls’ Doubles and Kacper Piwowar & Abraham Sellado winning the Boys’ Doubles.
Jetha & Rahmani-Walentynska beat Eva Eccles & Hannah Saunders 3-1 (11-8, 11-4, 7-11, 11-3) and it was 3-0 (11-9, 15-13, 11-7) for Piwowar & Sellado against Max Radiven & Oscar Nikolli.
6.53pm: Congratulations to Max Radiven & Sienna Jetha, our Mixed Doubles champions! They have beaten Dimitar Dimitrov & Soraya Rahmani-Walentynska 3-0 (11-5, 11-5, 13-11).

6.40pm: It will also be first versus second seeds in the Boys’ Doubles final. Kacper Piwowar & Abraham Sellado needed four games to get past Sinan Surensoy & Adam Alibhai (11-8, 9-11, 11-9, 11-7), but it took five for Max Radiven & Oscar Nikolli to see off Pablo Ramirez Rioja & Jake Davidson (6-11, 11-8, 12-10, 3-11, 11-7).
6.20pm: The No 1 and No 2 seeds are into the Girls’ Doubles final – Sienna Jetha & Soraya Rahmani-Walentynsks beating Assil Sarri & Serene Rahmani-Walentynska, while Eva Eccles & Hannah Saunders defeated Catherine Lv & Evie Knaapen.
5.55pm: The top seeds are into the Mixed Doubles final – Max Radiven & Sienna Jetha defeating Leo Nguyen & Catherine Lv in four. But they won’t be playing the second seeds, because Dimitar Dimitrov & Soraya Rahmani-Walentynska have beaten them – triumphing against Abraham Sellado & Eva Eccles 3-2 (11-8, 4-11, 4-11, 14-12, 11-6).
5.24pm: The only Boys’ Doubles quarter-final to go to five saw Sinan Surensoy & Adam Alibhai end the hopes of Leo & Hugo Nguyen 3-2 (11-6, 8-11, 11-9, 5-11, 11-6).
They will play top seeds Kacper Piwowar & Abraham Sellado, while the bottom half semi-final will be Pablo Ramirez Rioja & Jake Davidson versus Max Radiven & Oscar Nikolli.
5.18pm: Three Girls’ Doubles quarter-finals are decided in three. The exception is Assil Sarri & Serene Rahmani-Walentynska defeating Bly Twomey & Alyssa Nguyen 3-2 (11-9, 11-8, 7-11, 5-11, 11-7). They will meet top seeds Sienna Jetha & Soraya Rahmani-Walentynska in the semis – the second meeting of the Rahmani-Walentynska sisters today.
In the bottom half of the draw, Catherine Lv & Evie Knaapen will play Eva Eccles & Hannah Saunders in the semis.
4.55pm: In the other Mixed Doubles quarters, Dimitar Dimitrov & Soraya Rahmani-Walentynska dumped second seeds Kacper Piwowar & Brooke Morris out 3-1 (11-8, 4-11, 11-7, 15-13), while Abraham Sellado & Eva Eccles came through against Ryan Goodier & Bly Twomey in four. It was three straight for top seeds Max Radiven & Sienna Jetha against Theo Kniep & Hannah Saunders.

4.35pm: In the Mixed Doubles, there was a family quarter-final as Hugo & Alyssa Nguyen took on Leo Nguyen – Hugo’s twin – & Catherine Lv. It was the latter pair who came through 3-1 (12-10, 8-11, 11-4, 12-10).
4pm: In the Boys’ Doubles preliminary round, Dimitar Dimitrov & Theo Kniep edged past Sam Poyntz & Angad Saggu 3-2 (11-8, 8-11, 16-14, 7-11, 11-5).
3.40pm: A couple of cracking preliminary round ties in the Girls’ Doubles – Millie Ufton & Millie Noble beat Isabelly Lorrana & Niylah Fernandez 3-2 (7-11, 11-3, 7-11, 11-9, 12-10) and Nour Alamine & Zeina Negm got through 3-2 (8-11, 13-11, 5-11, 13-11, 11-6) against Maisha Patel & Sienna Svoboda.
3.10pm: Doubles competitions under way.
Singles
2.40pm: Max Radiven lives up to his top seeding by taking the title with a 3-1 (11-9, 11-2, 8-11, 11-9) victory over second seed Abraham Sellado.

2.20pm: Alyssa Nguyen becomes the day’s first champion, winning the U17 Girls’ Singles title with a 3-2 (7-11, 11-4, 11-9, 10-12, 11-6) victory over top seed Sienna Jetha. Nguyen had three match points in the fourth but bounced back from losing them to lead the decider 8-0 and eventually take her chance for her first national singles title since under-11 level.

2.07pm: Boys’ semi-finals – Max Radiven books his place in the final with a 3-0 (9, 6, 10) win over unseeded Sinan Surensoy, and he will meet second seed Abraham Sellado, who gets past third seed Kacper Piwowar 3-2 (8-11, 11-8, 11-1, 12-10).
1.50: Girls’ semi-finals – Both done in four – and it’s unseeded Alyssa Nguyen who will play Sienna Jetha in the final. Nguyen beat Eva Eccles 3-1 (9-11, 11-9, 11-7, 11-6), while Jetha defeated her London Academy colleague Soraya Rahmani-Walentynska 3-1 (6-11, 11-7, 11-7, 11-5).
1.20pm: Boys’ Round of 16 – unseeded Sinan Surensoy defeated sixth seed Janak Shah, surviving a comeback to win 3-1 (11-8, 11-5, 9-11, 1-11, 11-7), while third seed Kacper Piwowar had to fight back to beat unseeded Pablo Ramirez Rioja 3-2 (13-15, 11-7, 12-14, 11-8, 11-3). It was four games for Abraham Sellado against Adam Alibhai, while Max Radiven beat seventh seed Oscar Nikolli in three.
1.10pm: Girls’ quarter-finals – third seed Catherine Lv is defeated 3-1 (11-8, 11-2, 9-11, 11-6) by Alyssa Nguyen. Fourth seed Soraya Rahmani-Walentynska is safely through, in four against Calina Dawson, while it’s three straight for top seed Sienna Jetha over Millie Ufton and for fifth seed Eva Eccles against Hannah Saunders.
12.47pm: Boys’ Round of 16 – Fourth seed Jake Davidson goes out 3-0 (6, 9, 6) at the hands of Sinan Surensoy, while sixth seed Janak Shah beats fifth seed Leo Nguyen 3-2 (11-7, 13-11, 7-11, 7-11, 11-6).
All the other seeds go through, though Dimitar Dimitrov takes a game off third seed Kacper Piwowar. Max Radiven is particularly impressive in dispatching Nishil Shah 3, 3, 1.
12.39pm: Elsewhere in the girls’ Round of 16, Millie Ufton beats Assil Sarri 3-2 (11-7, 11-8, 5-11, 5-11, 11-6) and Calina Dawson beats European para champion and sixth seed Bly Twomey in four. It’s also four games as Soraya Rahmani-Walentynska beats her younger sister Serene, while Eva Eccles, Alyssa Nguyen, Catherine Lv and Sienna Jetha are all through in three.

12.20pm: Big news in the girls’ competition as second seed Brooke Morris is defeated in the last 16 by Hannah Saunders. Seventh seed Saunders finished second in her group but got her campaign back on track with a 3-0 (13-11, 11-8, 11-6) win.

12.10pm: Boys’ Group 6 – Winston Hill rises from No 4 to No 2 to go through behind expected group winner Janak Shah. Hill got above Angad Saggu and Ryan Goodier and also took Shah to five before losing 3-2 (11-8, 15-13, 9-11, 7-11, 11-7). Shah was taken to five by Goodier, winning 3-2 (5-11, 9-11, 11-8, 16-14, 11-7).

12.04pm: Girls’ Group 6 – Bly Twomey went through in first place as expected, but only after surviving a tough clash with Zoe Gonpot, Twomey winning 3-1 (9-11, 11-6, 7-11, 11-6, 11-8). Evie Knaapen went through in second, as expected.
12pm: Girls’ Group 7 – Three-way countback between Hannah Saunders, Assil Sarri and Aadhira Prakash, who all won two matches. Second-ranked Sarri went through ahead of top-ranked Saunders, edging out Prakash, who beat Sarri 3-2 (16-14, 9-11, 11-7, 4-11, 11-6).
11.53am: Boys’ Group 5 – Pablo Ramirez Rioja overtook top-ranked Leo Nguyen, winning in three close games – Ramirez Rioja had earlier come from 2-0 down to beat Sam Poyntz 3-2 (8-11, 5-11, 13-11, 14-12, 11-6). Nguyen went through as runner-up.
11.43am: Girls’ Group 1 – No problems for top seed Sienna Jetha, but third-ranked Zeina Negm defeats second-ranked Daisy Watson to go through as runner-up.

11.42am: Boys’ Group 3 – third-ranked Nishil Shah beats second-ranked Harry Tomlinson 3-2 (11-8, 9-11, 16-18, 11-7, 11-7) to follow group winner Kacper Piwowar into the main draw.
11.39am: Boys’ Group 4 – Jake Davidson is in top place as expected, but Hugo Nguyen gets above Theo Kniep into runners-up spot; Boys’ Group 7 – The top two are reversed as Adam Alibhai beats Oscar Nikolli 3-0 (11-5, 11-9, 11-5). Nikolli was tested by Rishaan Sawant, winning 3-2 (5-11, 11-7, 11-6, 9-11, 11-5).
11.36am: Boys’ Group 1 – Max Radiven safely through from Group 1, though he did drop a game to Dimitar Dimitrov, who goes through in second, as expected; Boys’ Group 2 – Abraham Sellado tops the group as expected but third-ranked Sinan Surensoy overtakes Harrison Hill to go through in second.

11.30am: Girls’ Group 5 – top two Eva Eccles and Calina Dawson go through with few alarms; Girls’ Group 8 – Alyssa Nguyen upsets Millie Noble as the order of the top two ranked players is reversed. It was 3-1 (11-7, 11-7, 4-11, 11-7) in their match-up.
11.27am: Girls’ Group 3 – The younger Rahmani-Walentynska sister, Serene, is through as runner-up behind top-ranked Catherine Lv. Serene beat Isabella Hamer 3-2 (5-11, 8-11, 11-6, 11-4, 11-4) to seal second place.
11.25am: Girls’ Group 4 – Soraya Rahmani-Walentynska tops the group but had to come from 2-0 down to beat Maisha Patel 3-2 (7-11, 3-11, 11-8, 11-5, 11-6). Patel through as runner-up.
11.20am: Girls’ Group 2 – Brooke Morris safely through, with Millie Ufton getting above second-ranked Jessica Tansur to go through as runner-up.
11am: Boys’ Group 8 – A three-player group with Aarav Parihar not playing. Prayrit Ahluwalia tops the group with Hassan Damji second. Ahluwalia had to come from 2-0 down to beat Shahuraj Nimse 3-2 (8-11, 8-11, 11-9, 11-7, 11-2), while Damji also beat Nimse in five – 7-11, 11-8, 11-9, 5-11, 14-12), saving one match point.
9am: Group stages get under way in the two singles competitions.
