England’s history-making Mixed Doubles partnership Connor Green & Tin-Tin Ho will line up on opposite sides of the table at the Mark Bates Ltd National Championships.

The duo became England’s first ever WTT Mixed Doubles champions when they won the title at WTT Feeder Dusseldorf earlier this month – and then won silver at WTT Feeder Otocec the following week.

But although they would probably now be hot favourites to win the title at the Nationals, there is good reason why they are not paired up.

Take your seat in the crowd at the Nationals to enjoy three thrilling doubles competitions, alongside singles and para singles.

Don’t forget, all those attending the Nationals have the chance to enter an exclusive raffle to win a money-can’t-buy World Championships experience – and to see the London 2026 England squads announced on court on Finals Day – click here to read more about this.

Connor is defending the title he won last year alongside his twin sister Anna. They go with the maxim of never breaking up a winning team and will defend their title as third seeds, starting with a match against Gabriel Schogger & Eva Eccles.

Tin-Tin, meanwhile, plays alongside Sam Walker and the pair are going for their sixth title together – they are the top seeds and begin against Joseph Marlor & Saskia Key.

The two pairs could only meet in the final, as the Greens have been drawn in the bottom half of the draw, and would face second seeds Joseph Hunter & Sophie Earley in the semi-finals. Ho & Walker would face the intriguing-looking partnership of Chris Doran and Mari Baldwin in the last four.

The competition is fully subscribed, meaning 16 pairs will get their campaigns under way at 7pm on Friday 20 March at David Ross Sports Village.

The quarter-finals follow on the Friday, with the semi-finals due to be first on courts 1 and 2 at 9am on the Saturday.

The final will be on the Sunday, making it truly a Finals Day as it includes every gold medal match – the Mixed has been played on the Saturday in recent years.

The Women’s Doubles gets under way at 10.20am on Saturday and sees Ho & Earley as top seeds and starting their campaign against the winners of the preliminary round match between Mia Lakhani & Anna Piercey and Holly Holder & Sally Hughes.

If it goes with seeding, the top seeds will have Jasmin Wong & Anna Green in the semi-finals while, in the bottom half of the draw, second seeds Ella Pashley & Sienna Jetha are due to face Norfolk combination Mollie Patterson & Eva Eccles, who both have Finals Day experience to draw on – Eccles as beaten finalist in this competition alongside Earley last year.

The Men’s Doubles gets under way at 9.40 with the full complement of eight first-round ties, with Paul Drinkhall going for an outright record of 16 titles in the category – he lines up with Sam Walker.

Another history-making pair, they were England’s first Men’s Doubles champions at a WTT event when they won WTT Feeder Manchester last year.

The defending champions begin against Gabriel Schogger & Howard Onweng and their likely semi-final opponents are Joseph Hunter & Larry Trumpauskas, whom they beat in the final in 2024.

David McBeath, one half of last year’s beaten finalist pair, has not entered this year, so his partner from last year Tom Jarvis lines up with Connor Green, with whom he reached the WTT Star Contender London semi-finals in October.

They are second seeds and begin against Joe Sawyer & Shae Thakker, and are seeded to face Felix Thomis & Ben Piggott in the semi-finals.

Among the other eye-catching pairs are two sets of brothers – Jack & Josh Bennett, who could face Drinkhall & Walker in the quarter-finals, and Jakub & Kacper Piwowar.
