With just one round of fixtures remaining in the 2025/26 Senior British Clubs League Premier Division, the stage is perfectly set for a dramatic conclusion at Ormesby TTC on April 11 and 12.

After three weekends of action, the league table remains finely poised. Ormesby and Brighton have established themselves as the two standout contenders, with both sides delivering strong performances in the previous round to keep the title race firmly alive heading into the finale.

Ormesby, two-time champions in the last decade, head into the final weekend with momentum on their side after consecutive 7-0 victories. The form of Enio Mendes, still unbeaten this season, alongside key contributions from Ben Piggott (pictured above) and Louis Price, not forgetting to mention England international David McBeath’s involvement throughout the season, has put them in a strong position to reclaim the crown, particularly with home advantage in Middlesbrough.

However, Brighton remain firmly in control of their own destiny. Chasing a historic third consecutive title, they have continued to grind out results when it matters most. Felix Thomis has once again proven decisive, while their ability to edge tight encounters, such as the 4-3 win over Drumchapel Glasgow, could prove crucial in a title race that may come down to just a single match, in the final round of the weekend where Ormesby face Brighton – watch it live on our YouTube channel.

While the spotlight will naturally fall on the battle for first place, the fight for survival is just as compelling.

Ormeau TTC, Drumchapel Glasgow and eBaTT remain locked in a tense relegation scrap. The arrival of Par Gerell has transformed Ormeau into genuine contenders for survival, with the Swedish star producing standout performances in crucial fixtures. Their narrow win over eBaTT last time out could prove pivotal, but with margins so fine, every match – and even every set – will matter on the final day.

Ormeau currently sit in the best position on 16 points, just two ahead of Drumchapel Glasgow, who may call upon the services of seven-time national champion Paul Drinkhall to help them fight for survival. eBaTT sit bottom of the table on 12 points, with plenty of work to do this weekend when they face both the title leaders in Ormesby and their closest rivals in Drumchapel Glasgow.

Meanwhile, North Ayrshire TTC and Fusion TTC sit in the middle of the table but are far from safe mathematically. North Ayrshire’s impressive victory over BATTS has lifted them into the top four, yet the congested standings mean they cannot afford any slip-ups.

With only four fixtures per club remaining, there is no margin for error. Whether it’s the race for the title, the scramble for survival, or final positioning in the table, every match on the final weekend carries huge significance.

All eyes now turn to Ormesby, where the 2025/26 season will reach its conclusion – and where champions will be crowned.
