Thinking of testing yourself at competitions in 2025/26? Our new Interactive Player Pathway Model explains the competitions landscape and where players of all ages and abilities fit into it!
The diagram maps each age group and standard of play to the appropriate competitions, from eight-to-13-year-olds who are just entering the sport, to seasoned veterans.
It details each stage of a player’s development from entry level up to the talent & performance space – and how each stage matches up to appropriate competitions, from local leagues to 1* tournaments and onwards to 2*, County Championships, British Clubs Leagues and beyond to pinnacle national and then international events.
The interactive element means players or parents can click on each event to be directed to the specific information page for that event.
Try it out below or click here to visit the Competition Overview page, where the diagram is hosted.

It is not only players who have more resources to help them navigate the competitions landscape – we have also produced a new guide for current and prospective tournament organisers.
The Tournaments Explained document provides an overview of Open Tournaments and summarises important elements of the Table Tennis England Regulations. It is intended:
• to help Tournament Organisers fulfil their role and duties effectively
• to illustrate recommended standards in relation to regulatory minimums
• to provide practical illustrations of how the regulations apply
