Two new teams, four host venues and a dynamic new format – the Senior British Clubs League, Premier Division is set to be a thriller in 2025/26!
Belfast club Ormeau return to the top flight after a year’s absence, while the arrival of London-based eBaTT takes the division up to eight teams.
They will clash over the course of four spellbinding weekends to decide the champions – full fixtures and our live-streaming plans will be revealed soon, so keep an eye on our website and social media channels.
The season will kick off on 4-5 October with North Ayrshire hosting, while BATTS in Harlow will be the venue for the second weekend on 13-14 December.
Focus turns to Fusion in south London on 14 February – though there may be no love between the teams on Valentine’s Day! To make a weekend of it, Fusion will host a 2* Open competition on the Sunday.
The season comes to a climax on 11-12 April as Ormesby host and the trophy will be lifted by the champion club.
Brighton are going for a treble after winning the title in each of the past two seasons, having called during that time on the likes of England ace Tom Jarvis and Paralympic champion Will Bayley, as well as Finnish star Alex Naumi and Ukrainian Ihor Zavadskyi.
Can recent champions Ormesby – for whom England’s David McBeath has been in scintillating form in recent seasons – wrest the trophy away from the south coast?
BATTS have been up there in recent season and are sure to challenge again, while Fusion are likely to feature a double European Veterans’ champion in the shape of Lorestas Trumpauskas.
North Ayrshire and Drumchapel Glasgow will fly the flag for Scotland and have the firepower to test opponents on any given day.
Ormeau were champions in 2022-23 and return to the division with a strong-looking squad spearheaded by Oriol Monzo, who won 10 of his 12 matches that season.
England international Sophie Earley and her brother Thomas are in the squad, which also features promising youngster Peadar Sheridan, who is on the GB performance pathway. Jonathan Mooney and James Skelton also have experience at this level.
EBaTT’s list of player registrations includes the interesting name of Sam Mabey, a mainstay for Ormesby over the years but who announced his retirement midway through last season.
Derek Abrefa, Chris Lewis and Sammy Kaye are likely to come into the reckoning for team selection – and will head coach Eli Baraty use his contacts to pull a rabbit or two out of the hat before that first weekend?
