After 240 team matches since the competition started at the Copper Box Arena on Tuesday 28 April, both women’s and men’s China line-ups won their respective 24th world titles.

The finals were both contested by China and Japan in front of a sold out OVO Arena Wembley. More than 7,000 spectators came to watch as these two table tennis heavyweight nations came to the finals seeking to be crowned world champion in the centenary year of the ITTF World Championships.
