19:35: It was the end of the road at the WTT Star Contender for Ella Pashley, an amazing tournament for the English teen as she reached the third round of qualifying, and bowed out to the impressive Xiangyu Zhang 3-0.
17:55: Tin Tin Ho and Sam Walker exit the mixed doubles at the hands of Isaac Quek and Ser Qi Lin of Singapore, the two English internationals looked as if they may take the lead before losing out 13-11. Both pairs shared game points in the second before the English duo struck back. However the pair from Singapore showed their class to take the third 11-2 and 11-6 in the fourth to clinch the match.

14:30: Session one comes to a close, with many upsets on display this morning, men’s doubles qualifying draw, number one seeded pair Nicholas Lum and Finn Luu bowing out at the hands of Indian partnership Sathiyan Gnanesakeran and Harmeet Desai. Germany’s Fanbo Meng needed five ends one more as he continues his search for a main draw place. England’s very own home success story of the morning session, Ella Pashley, the Guisborough teenager defeated Fatimo Bello WR116 and second seed in the qualification draw.
12:00: Ella Pashley defeats second seed in qualifying Fatimo Bello of Nigeria in three straight games to advance into the third round of qualifying, where she will face the impressive Xiangyu Zhang (CHN). Pashley started the match strong and took the first end 11-6, before a tactical timeout called from John Murphy helped the English star take the second 14-12 before closing out the match 12-10 in the third.

11:30: Sophie Earley took an early lead over Slovakian Tatiana Kukulkova taking the first end 11-8, and with a 5-2 lead in the second, a comeback was ignited by the Slovakian star, as she went on to take the next three games 9,7,4.

11:15am: Doubles draw announced – No English players will compete in the men’s doubles qualifying draw, with Walker & Drinkhall and Green & Jarvis both set to face successful qualifiers their opponents are yet to be revealed.
A similar story in the women’s doubles as Earley & Ho will take on a qualifying pair. However, an interesting draw for GB’s Anna Hursey who combines with Romania and European number one, Bernadette Szocs, as they face Adina Diaconu (ROU) and Maria Xiao (ESP).
The mixed doubles sees Tin Tin Ho and Sam Walker in action today as they face Qian Lin Ser & Isaac Quek of Singapore. Hursey will partner Paul Drinkhall, and Anna will have to face her women’s doubles partner as they take on Romanian duo Bernadette Szocs and Edouard Ionescu.
11am: Main draw news – Sam Walker will start against Germany’s Kay Stumper (WR 82) when the main draw of the men’s singles gets under way tomorrow, with the winner to face another German – the legendary Dimitrij Ovtcharov (WR 29).
Connor Green starts against Feng Yi-Hsin (WR 55) of Chinese Taipei, with Manav Thakkar (WR 39) of India waiting in the second round. Paul Drinkhall and Tom Jarvis will face qualifiers – they will discover their opponents after this evening’s third qualifying round matches.
In the Women’s Singles, Tianer Yu will face Camille Lutz (WR 107) of France in the first round, with the winner to meet Qin Yuxuan (WR 37) of China. Tin-Tin Ho starts against Maria Xiao (WR 58) of Spain and the winner will face Manika Batra of India.
Wales’ Anna Hursey face Yeh Yi-Tian (WR 46) of Chinese Taipei, with the winner to face Xiaoxin Yang (WR 21) of Monaco.
