6.40pm: Kay Stumper ends Sam Walker’s interest in the singles, with a 3-1 (11-9, 11-8, 7-11, 11-9) victory for the German world No 82.
6.05pm: Tin-Tin Ho finds Spain’s Maria Xiao (WR 58) a tough opponent as she can’t quite get close enough to bag a game – it finishes 3-0 (11-5, 11-8, 11-9) to Xiao.
5.30pm: What a start to the evening session as GB duo Paul Drinkhall & Anna Hursey win their first ever match as a pair – and in three straight! They defeated Romania’s Eduard Ionescu & Bernadette Szocs 11-8, 12-10, 13-11 to advance to the quarter-finals, where they will face Sweden’s Kristian Karlsson & Christina Kallberg.

3.30pm: Tianer Yu is defeated 3-1 (11-8, 14-12, 11-13, 11-6) by Camille Lutz of France, the world No 107. It’s a case of what might have been for the teenager as she had five game points in the second game, at 10-7, 11-10 and 12-11.

2.15pm: Not to be for GB and Wales’ Anna Hursey (WR 53) as she is defeated by Yeh Yi-Tian (WR 46) of Chinese Taipei 3-1 (11-8, 7-11, 11-4, 11-7) in the first round.

12.00: Tin-Tin Ho & Sophie Earley go out of the Women’s Doubles at the hands of Hong Kong pair Ng Wing Lam & Wong Hoi Tung. The English pair had a 9-7 lead in the first but were always chasing after that as they went out 3-0 (11-9, 11-8, 11-6).
