The first Grand Prix of the season was held last weekend in Crawley. Seeded at 10 and 11 respectively, Mihai Nemacuic (pictured above) and Lorestas Trumpauskas saw off all opposition from higher seeded players to dominate in the Men’s Singles event, with Nemacuic coming through to take the title.

The Women’s Singles event provided a more expected result with top seed Yat Poon (pictured above) bringing home the prize following her victory over number 2 seed Tianer Yu.

There was further cause for celebration in the Trumpauskas family with Lorestas winning the veteran’s prize and his son Larry the Under 21 men’s title.

Meanwhile, the Preston Grand Prix, at the Sir Tom Finney Sports Centre at the University of Central Lancashire, closes for entries on Monday September 25. Entries are online-only, via the TT Memberships platform.
