Brighton teenager Bly Twomey continued her meteoric rise since making her international debut in March this year by beating the Asian Para Games champion to take gold in the women’s class 7 singles at the ITTF SQY French Para Open at the Paris 2024 Velodrome in Saint Quentin en Yvelines.
After the first day of the doubles events at the ITTF European Para Table Tennis Championships in Sheffield the British team is assured of at least three medals when the tournament concludes today.
The British team took two medals in the doubles events on the final day of the ITTF Polish Para Open in Wladyslawowo
Paul Karabardak won gold at the ITTF Polish Para Open in Wladyslawowo without dropping a set and on a good day for the British Para Table Tennis Team there were silver medals for Billy Shilton, Ashley Facey and Grace Williams, while 13-year-old Bly Twomey won bronze in only her second international tournament.
On the final day of the ITTF Slovenia Para Open in Lasko the British team won three bronze medals in the doubles events. Will Bayley and Martin Perry took bronze in men’s class 14, Ashley Facey and Joshua Stacey took bronze in men’s class 18 and Jack Hunter-Spivey and Megan Shackleton took bronze in mixed class 10.
