The schedule for Stage 1b of the World Team Table Tennis Championships Finals has been released – with 112 teams in action and tickets starting at just £5, head to the Copper Box Arena for four incredible days of world-class table tennis!

Among those competing in Stage 1b from Tuesday 28 April to Friday 1 May are Wales women, spearheaded by GB Olympian Anna Hursey.

Athletes from every corner of the globe, from Argentina to Thailand and New Zealand to Puerto Rico, are heading to the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park with one thought in mind – qualifying to join the top seven seeds and hosts England in the main draw at OVO Arena Wembley from 4 May.

With 12 tables in action and two sessions every day, it will be an amazing spectacle, played out in the iconic Box That Rocks, of London Olympics and Paralympics fame.

Tickets are just £5 for children and £15 for adults – so you will be guaranteed to see plenty of great action at an affordable price.

The first teams take to the court at 10am on the Tuesday and among those starting in that session are Denmark men, the highest-ranked team in the draw and led by the all-action superstar Anders Lind, the world No 15. They start against Mexico in Group 3.

Also making their first appearance at 10am are the top-ranked women’s team in the stage, Egypt, with teenager Hana Goda (WR 25) leading them into battle against South Africa in Group 3.

Wales get their campaign under way at 5pm on the Tuesday, against Nigeria in Group 11. Their other matches are against Uzbekistan at 7.30pm on the Wednesday and Australia a 12.30pm on the Friday.

That final match is a chance for Wales to avenge their defeat by Australia in the bronze medal match at the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham.

Singapore women won the world title in 2012 and are the reigning Commonwealth Games champions – they start against Trinidad & Tobago at 7.30pm on the Tuesday and also face Hungary and Ethiopia.

India are another massive draw and their men – the 2022 Commonwealth champions in Birmingham – start against Guatemala at 5pm on the Thursday. At the same time, the women’s team takes on Rwanda.

Among the other eye-catching matches are the Men’s team clash between Australia and New Zealand at 12.30pm on the Wednesday.
