The Cambridge Junior 4* event raised a grand total of £2,000 to boost the charity WheelPower.

Players, parents, coaches, officials and volunteers all chipped during the event last month in to raise the money, which will help the Stoke Mandeville-based charity’s work to bring wheelchair sports to Disabled People and those who have been newly injured.

Tournament Organiser Dan Bullen said: “I am blown away by the amount raised by this event. I would like to thank all officals and volunteers who decided to either go without their expenses or take a reduction to help this good cause.

“As many of you know this charity is close to my heart and I am humbled by the support you continue to give the Cambridge Charity 4 Star.”

Paul Rushton, Head of Finance Data and Communication at WheelPower, said: “A huge thank you to Dan and everyone involved for raising such an incredible amount for WheelPower. This will provide opportunities for more disabled people to play sport and lead active lives.”
