Start competing

All you need to know to start competing in table tennis.

Play in a competition

Table Tennis England deliver or support a wide range of competition opportunities, in league and tournament formats, from local to national level.

There is competition to suit everyone, whether a beginner or accomplished player, across four main age-groups: Cadet (U15), Junior (U19), Senior (open age) and Veteran (O40), and sub- age-groups including U11, U13, U17 and U21.

New to competing?

We recommend that new or aspiring players contact their local club in the first instance. Most local clubs play in a local league structure and can access local competition opportunities.

Players looking to challenge themselves can play-up the ‘star rating’ or play-across the age-group. For instance, a Junior player looking to take a step forward from Junior 1* tournaments could play a Junior 2* (up a tier) or a Senior 1* (across an age-group)
