As the top tier heads to round seven, one team is maintaining a steady march to the crown whilst others fight for vital points to keep them off the bottom. Four rounds to play means a lot can change, but the early signs are pointing towards a thrilling run in at both ends of the table.

Ormesby returned to the top of the Premier Division after a dominant display against Drumchapel Glasgow on Saturday. They were sitting second for just a week thanks to Brighton’s early round six tie against North Ayrshire, but swiftly leapt above their title rivals extending their unbeaten run to six games. It was a one-sided affair, with the Cleveland club not dropping a single end.

The north-east side are not letting up in their pursuit of the league title. In Benjamin Piggott they have one of the players of the season, having played 10 matches losing just one.

Direct rivals Brighton did everything they could to pile on the pressure with an equally convincing win of their own against North Ayrshire. Given their form so far it is likely that a final-day decider could be on the cards when they travel to Ormesby to end the season.

BATTS, however, may have something to say about that. They have consistently proved the strength of their squad with victories against everyone but the top two – most recently against Fusion at the weekend. Whilst it would realistically need them to win every game, they are still not out of title contention.

The bottom three of Fusion, North Ayrshire and Drumchapel Glasgow sit on eight points, with one win apiece. Each have shown their quality at various points in the campaign, and they all have the potential to string together a series of wins to move them up the standings.

All sides are back in action on 1st March. North Ayrshire will be the next challenge for Ormesby as they make the journey to Scotland. Brighton will host Fusion and Drumchapel Glasgow will travel to third-placed BATTS.
