As the leaves begin to fall from the trees and the weather gets a bit colder, please see a roundup below of some of the key stories from the East across the past month, it’s been another action packed month.

A big congratulations to Bramford Community Table Tennis Club, who have been shortlisted for ‘Active Community Of The Year’ in the Active Suffolk Awards. For full details, please see the article. Table Tennis England wish the club the best of luck at the awards ceremony in mid-November.

Woodbridge Ping Hub (Suffolk)

As detailed in my last blog, we started delivery of our Free-2-Play sessions at the Woodbridge Ping Hub on Monday 29th September. At the time of writing this blog, we have 17 members of the hub, with a range of different audiences having accessed the hub thus far. The focus will now turn to additional promotion of the sessions to further promote the hub. A huge thank you to Woodbridge TTC for their continued support thus far.

Hertsmere Womens Table Tennis Club (Hertfordshire)

A huge congratulations to Hertsmere Women’s Table Tennis club, who have secured substantial investment from Sport England to develop opportunities for women and girls to play the sport in Borehamwood. I look forward to supporting the club in anyway I can.

050BM Community Table Tennis Competition (Bedfordshire)

On Saturday 20th September, I had the pleasure of being invited to attend the first ever 050BM Table Tennis Competition at the Coop Sports Club in Luton. It was a fantastic event to go and see, with a great mixture of competition and community. Well done to both Chidi Umeano and Enitan Kane, who put together a fantastic event.
