A century after the very first World Championships were held in London, the superstars of table tennis will return to the city where it all began — for a historic celebration of the sport and a showcase of world-class competition.
About the competition

64 Women’s and 64 Men’s teams will compete for the world title. Stage 1a will see the top 7 teams along with England (the host nation) competing at OVO Arena, Wembley. They will be draw into two groups and compete to determine their seeding placement in the Main Draw.

The remaining 56 teams will play in Stage 1b at the Copper Box Arena, with 14 group winners progressing through to the Main Draw at the OVO Arena. The second-placed teams in the groups will compete in a preliminary round to determine the final 10 teams advancing to the Main Draw, which will feature a total of 32 teams in knockout format.
