South East Area

I joined Table Tennis England in August 2023 as the Adult Participation Officer and subsequently moved into the Area Manager role.  I have an extremely keen interest in development and quite simply want to get as many people playing this wonderful sport as possible.  I have particular interest in coaching and how we can bring the love of table tennis to players both young and old.

Here we are looking to provide a great focus on all things South East, covering Buckinghamshire, Berkshire, Oxfordshire, Hampshire, Isle of Wight, Surrey, Sussex and Kent. Whether that is a club doing wonderful things, a local league running recruitment drives, or simply an individual who warrants a special mention.

I am very excited to help clubs, leagues, communities, and partners to bring the new Table Tennis United Strategy to life and I hope that, with a collaborative approach, we can get more people playing the sport, increase the level of performance in the South East and continue to create a community that feels safe and inspiring.

The South East covers Buckinghamshire, Berkshire, Oxfordshire, Hampshire, Isle of Wight, Surrey, Sussex and Kent.

This includes the cities and towns of: Milton Keynes, Aylesbury, Oxford, Abingdon, Basingstoke, Reading, Newbury, Portsmouth, Southampton, Andover, Canterbury, Maidstone, Dover, Worthing, Crawley, Horsham and Brighton.

Local Organising Groups (LOGs) are formed of volunteers from the table tennis community and external partners and organisations who work with us to bring table tennis alive locally. They are there to provide support and guidance to the Area Manager and take an action-led approach to helping deliver the Local Delivery Plan. The members of the South East Local Organising Group are:

Community Table Tennis Partnerships (CTTPs) are local geographic areas based around a town, city or small cluster of towns where the data and insight from across the sport and using demographic data and local partner knowledge tells us there are opportunities to develop the sport in those areas. These will then receive dedicated, focussed support from the Area Manager and Area Chair and the Local Organising Group and will work closely with local partners to establish, develop and sustain activity that achieves the priorities and goals laid out in Table Tennis United. Counties, clubs, leagues and other table tennis activity that exists in that CTTP space will be engaged to support the work that happens.

CTTPs will continue to evolve with the goal that activity set up is sustained by local clubs, leagues and organisations. This enables more CTTPs to be established across different parts of the Area Network that demonstrates potential impact can be made through the data, insight and information from the sport, societal data and local partners. CTTP work will make up a large proportion of the activity within Local Delivery Plans.
