Gabriel Church won the Burco Eugeniu Trophy 2026 at Emba Table Tennis Club in Paphos – at the age of just 12.

Gabriel, who plays for Bede’s Table Tennis Academy in the Eastbourne League, was competing against a strong field of 32 adult players including some of the top players in Cyprus.

He beat former Cyprus national player Pambos Charalambos Christou in the group stages, before producing an incredible comeback in the final, battling from 2-0 and match point down to win 3-2 against Mykhailo Andrieiev, the No 1 ranked amateur player in Cyprus.
