Tianer Yu and Sienna Jetha both reached the knockout stage in two age groups at the WTT Youth Contender Havirov.

Yu won both her matches in the under-17 group stage, including 13-11 in the decider against Turkey’s Aybuke Banu Simsek. Jetha got through with one victory.

Jetha went out in the last 64, edged out 11-9 in the fifth by lower-ranked Nela Ondrusova of Slovakia. Yu had a bye into the last 32, where she was defeated by Ai Lis Gan of Malaysia, ranked 36 places above her at No 210.

In the under-19s, Yu again won both group matches, including beating the world No 40 Zuzanna Wielgos of Poland in five. She was beaten in the round of 32 by Adela Sazimova of the host nation, ranked 120 places above her.

Jetha got through the under-15s with one group-stage victory, and went out in the last 64 to lower-ranked Mariia Lytvyn of Austria.
