England secured a top-10 finish in the team competition and Sienna Jetha reached the singles last 16 at the European under-13 Challenge in Montenegro.

A squad of Eva Eccles, Jetha, Kacper Piwowar and Abraham Sellado competed at the event in Podgorica, with 21 countries in the team competition.

England were up against the host nation, Spain and Kosovo in the team group stage, with a format of one doubles followed by four singles, with each player playing two matches per fixture.

Montenegro were beaten 5-0 in the first match as only Jetha dropped sets, coming from 2-1 down to beat Anastasija Vujovic 3-2.

The key match was against Spain and England took the doubles in five through Piwowar & Jetha, only for Spain to hit back to win the following two singles against Eccles and Sellado – the latter 12-10 in a decider.

Jetha restored parity and Piwowar then recovered a 2-1 deficit to beat Cristian Sanchez 3-2 to complete overall victory.
