Tianer Yu went out in the quarter-finals of the WTT Youth Contender Tashkent in Uzbekistan.
Having got through the group and the round of 16 without dropping a game, top seed Yu, ranked No 90 on the Junior world rankings, met Arujan Kamalova of the host nation in the last eight.
Yu took the first seed but her opponent, ranked No 273 on the Junior list, hit back to take the next three.
Kamalova went on to win the competition, beating two more higher-ranked players in the semi-finals and final.
