Connor Green and Kacper Piwowar (pictured above) both reached the quarter-finals at the WTT Youth Contender Linz in Austria, while GB Junior Squad player Sophie Earley won a silver medal.

Earley’s silver came in the under-17 girls’ singles where, as third seed, she reached the final by defeating top seed Matilde Pinto of Portugal in four. She was defeated 3-0 in the final by eighth seed Lilou Massart of Belgium.

In her run to the final, Ireland’s Earley knockout out England’s Sienna Jetha in the last 32. Tianer Yu, in her first international tournament, reached the last 16, where she was defeated by top seed Pinto.

English players Anna Green, Naomi Coker, Ella Pashley and Jonabel Taguibao did not make it out of the groups, though Pashley was edged out 12-10 in a deciding game in her second match.

In the oldest under-19 age group, Mari Baldwin was the only England player to make it to the knockouts and she was defeated in four by second seed Jele Stortz of Germany in the last 32. Earley also went out in the round of 32.
