Table tennis could not happen without the dedication and commitment of our technical officials – and now is the time to let them know how much we appreciate their efforts!

From tournament organisers to umpires and referees, the people who help provide competitive opportunities play a key role in the sport.

That’s why one of the categories in the Pride of Table Tennis Awards – Technical Official of the Year – seeks to honour them.

Nominations are invited for those officials who have made a stellar contribution to officiating, either in the field of play or in support of the officiating pathway, in the last 12 months.

The 2021 winner Simon Morgan typifies the contribution made. He was nominated for going the extra mile through the tournaments he has refereed and organised to give people the opportunity to play table tennis in turbulent times as we emerged from the pandemic restrictions.

Through his friendly persona and eye for detail he was able to create a safe and welcoming environment for people to return to table tennis between lockdowns, which raised the spirits of many.

If you know a similarly inspirational Technical Official who is worthy of a Pride of Table Tennis Award, now is the time to nominate them!

Nominations close at 11:59pm on Sunday 4th November.
