Entries are open for the Mark Bates Ltd U10-U13 National Championships.

The competition takes place on the weekend of 12-13 April at The Brentwood Centre in Essex, with Under-11 and Under-13 competitions on the Saturday and Under-10 and Under-12 events on the Sunday.

As of last season, this is an open competition. That means any young players within those age groups who meet the criteria can enter and do not have to be invited.

There will be boys’ and girls’ singles in all four age groups and boys’ and girls’ doubles at U12 and U13.

Players can only enter one age group per day, plus doubles events.

Entries open at noon on Wednesday 29 January and the deadline is 11.59pm Wednesday 19 March.

Entries are on a first-come, first-served basis, with the exception of the below protected spaces (provided entries are received on time):

  • Players in the Top 16 (Singles) in the specific age groups on the 24/07 ranking list
  • Players in the Top 8 (Doubles) in the specific age groups on the 24/07 ranking list

Doubles events will be restricted to 24 pairs per category. All eligible players are able to enter Doubles events.

All singles events will have a minimum guaranteed capacity:

  • The U10s and U11s events will have a minimum guaranteed capacity of 24 players
  • The U12s and U13s events will have a minimum guaranteed capacity of 48 players

Should entries exceed these minimum capacities, the final number of entrants will be determined by the Referee, depending on capacity.

The criteria players must meet are:

  • To have played in at least one Local Open Tournament (1* event) or higher in the same season. This includes Cadet British Clubs League.
  • To be a current Compete or Compete Plus member of Table Tennis England (if player is a Compete member, a One-off Tournament Pass must also be bought)
  • To have indicated ‘England’ as their nationality in their membership profile

The tournament documentation can be downloaded from the event homepage.
