France defeated England 3-0 for the second time in three days to confirm top spot in the European Team Championships Stage One group.

Two days after their victory in Crawley, the French team was back on home soil for the final qualifying match and strengthened their team by bringing in world No 31 Simon Gauzy.

It was Gauzy who kicked off proceedings with a three straight win over Tom Jarvis, before Paul Drinkhall met Felix Lebrun in a match which was likely to be pivotal.

Drinkhall struck first, but once the 16-year-old Lebrun won the second 14-12, he was able to pull away and secure a 3-1 win.

It was left to Can Akkuzu to complete the overall victory for France in three against David McBeath.
