Liam Pitchford & Tin-Tin Ho are first into the action for Team GB at the European Games on Friday – and will have the chance to avenge their recent World Championships defeat.

The GB pair have been drawn to face third seeds Lubomir Pistej & Barbora Balazova of Slovakia in the last 16. The match is on Table 2 at 10.30am UK time.

The pairs met in the last 64 of the World Championships in Durban last month, resulting in a 3-0 (11-6, 11-3, 11-8) win for the Slovakians.

The opening matches in the singles competitions are also tomorrow.

Paul Drinkhall (WR 84) is first up against Ievgen Pryshchepa (WR 279) of Ukraine in the round of 64 at 2pm on Table 1, with the winner due to take on top seed Dang Qiu of Germany in the next round.

Ninth seed Liam Pitchford (WR 35) is straight into the last 32, where he will on Saturday face the winner of the match between Ioannis Sgouropoulos (WR 237) of Greece and Daniel Habesohn (WR 98) of Austria.

In the Women’s Singles, Tin-Tin Ho (WR 181) faces France’s Prithika Pavade (WR 66) in the round of 64 on table 2 at 3.30pm, while Charlotte Carey (WR 197) will play Solomiya Brateyko (WR 155) of Ukraine on Table 1 at 6.15pm.

Meanwhile in the team events which start next Wednesday, June 28, Great Britain’s men have been drawn against Romania in the first round, with the winners to face fourth seeds Portugal.
