Amy Marriott was the only English player to reach the knockout stage of the WTT Youth Contender Havirov event in the Czech Republic.

The Rotherham athlete (pictured above) qualified second in her group in the under-17 girls’ singles but was beaten in the last 64 by Eliska Stullerova of Slovakia, ranked 68 places above her at No 91 in the world junior rankings.

Rebecca Savage went out in the group stage of the same age group, while Marriott, Savage and Jasmin Wong were all eliminated in the group stage of the under-19 girls’ singles.
