Tianer Yu will make her England debut as part of the squad named for the Home Nations International in Bangor, Wales, next month.

Yu (pictured above), who turns 16 at the end of November, became eligible to represent England during the summer and is in the Junior Girls’ category, alongside Scarlett Anders.

There is plenty of experience in the Senior ranks, including Mollie Patterson, who represented England at the European Championships in September.

The younger age groups feature a number of players who have recently enjoyed success on the international stage, including Isaac Kingham, who won silver at the WTT Youth Contender in Montenegro, and semi-finalist from that event, Max Radiven.

Also there are European Youth Championships quarter-finalist Ralph Pattison, as well as Hannah Saunders, who finished fifth at the Stiga Mini Masters this month, and Abraham Sellado, who won gold at the Europe Youth Series in Serbia.

Table Tennis England Head of Pathway Development, Emma Vickers, said: “Our England team are very much looking forward to competing at the upcoming Home Nations International.

“The event is always a great opportunity for the Home Nations to gather and test themselves against one another across a series of age groups. We have selected a team we believe are capable of excelling at the event and wish them the best of luck!”

The competition is on November 11 and 12 and the full England squad is:

  • Senior Men – Connor Green, Shayan Siraj
  • Senior Women – Mari Baldwin, Mollie Patterson
  • Junior Boys – Isaac Kingham, Ralph Pattison
  • Junior Girls – Scarlett Anders, Tianer Yu
  • Cadet Boys – Max Radiven, Abraham Sellado
  • Cadet Girls – Sienna Jetha, Hannah Saunders
  • Coaches – Gordon Fearn, Natalie Green

Baldwin won three gold medals at the previous edition of the event in Largs, Ireland, in 2021, where Sellado also won two golds. Jetha and Green won silvers on that occasion.
