Mari Baldwin and Sienna Jetha reached the knockout stage at the WTT Youth Contender Platja D’Aro in Spain.

Jetha (pictured) got through the group stage in both the under-13 and under-15 competitions, losing to the same opponent both times in the shape of Alexia Nodin of France.

It was 3-0 in both cases, in the quarter-finals of the under-13s and the last 32 of the older age group, to a player ranked just one place below Jetha in the event entries.

Baldwin lost a close three-game match to Wales’ Anna Hursey in the under-19s but got through as group runner-up, but she was beaten in the last 64 by an opponent from Hong Kong.

Scarlett Anders was competing in under-17 and under-19s, but was unable to get out of the group stage – she was also defeated by Hursey in the under-17s. She lost 12-10 in the decider of her second group match.
