Tudor Eftinca from St Marys, Hull and Grantham College was the outright winner of the Under-19 boys’ singles in the Ormesby Junior 1 Star Championships which took place at the Teesside club on Sunday April 21.

Eftinca (pictured above with Ormesby Chairman Alan Ransome OBE) won the title dropping only one game to the player who finished in fourth, Billy Lee.  In second place was Joshua Jackman from Durham while Aaron Christie from Ormesby was third.

In the Under-15 boys’ singles the winner was Adam Watson from the NETTS club in Newcastle.  In second place was David Sherwood from Harrogate who won all his matches except for Watson.

The Under-13 boys was won by Harry Tomlinson from St Mary’s, Hull who won all his four matches in straight games. Charlie Burnside was second with Isaac Davies in third place, both from Darlington.

In the U13 Girls, the winner who was unbeaten was Dorian Cheung from NETTS in Newcastle, who lost only one game to Scarborough’s Phoebe O’Brien. In second place was Harriet Goodwin from Darlington who finished highest on a countback, with Aliya Zhuzbayeva of Ormesby and Phoebe O’Brien from Scarborough in third and fourth place.
