Good results at the Sussex 4*, Senior British Clubs League and the Cleveland Junior 4* have proved the launchpad for moving up the rankings this month.

It has been a good month for Zac Greenhough (pictured above), who has made strides in both Junior and Senior categories.

The Ormesby player won the Junior Boys’ Open on home territory at the Cleveland 4* – earning him instant qualification for the Mark Bates Ltd Junior Nationals and also seeing him climb into the top 10 in the Junior Boys’ Open rankings. He is No 8, leapfrogging Ryan Holland, who he beat in the final and who himself climbs a place to ninth.

In the corresponding girls’ category, Hannah Saunders jumps up five places to No 5 having reached the Junior final in Cleveland, where she won the Cadet title, helping her to maintain her No 1 ranking in that category and securing her place at the Cadet Nationals.

Ronan Lamont Tierney reached the Cadet Boys’ Open semi-finals in Cleveland and he rises three places to No 7 in that category. His fellow semi-finalist Aaron Wong also climbs three places to No 11. Dimitar Dimitrov won the event and maintains his No 1 ranking.

In the Senior ranks, the SBCL Premier Division and Championship results, as well as the Sussex Senior 4*, helped get a few players upwardly mobile.

Shaquille Webb Dixon won the Sussex 4* Men’s Open Singles and he climbs three places to No 12.

Youngster Sinan Surensoy went deep in several categories at that event and he is now just outside the top 20 at No 21, on the back of a 28-place uplift.

Israel Awolaja, Alim Hirji and Gabriel Achampong were among those to have success at the SBCL Championship, Awolaja rising 21 places to No 15, Hirji climbing 26 to No 18 and Achampong moving up 17 places to No 19. Greenhough also did well in the Championship and rises five places to No 32.

In the Premier Division, Isaac Kingham and Abraham Sellado both won 7/8 on weekend one, respectively lifting them one place to ninth and two places to 11.

In the Senior Women’s category, Sara Williams is back into the top 10 after good performances at both the Sussex and Liverpool 4* events.
