Meanwhile in the men’s singles competition, chances of medals for the english athletes look high with all three – Liam Pitchford, Sam Walker and Paul Drinkhall into the quarter-finals.

Paul Drinkhall and Liam Pitchford will also be on the hunt to retain their gold medal in the men’s doubles as they look to advance past the semi-final today.
