This year’s Pride of Table Tennis Awards are now open! Over the next few days, we will be looking back at previous winners and sharing the incredible contributions our volunteers make to table tennis up and down the country.

Do you know a Young Volunteer (Male or Female) who has made a significant impact in your table tennis journey over the last 12 months? If so, why not nominate them for a Pride of Table Tennis Award this year?

Perhaps you know a Young Female Volunteer like Mia Soloman (pictured above with Table Tennis England Director Jos Kelly), who has made a real difference to the sport?

Mia won the 2022 Young Female Volunteer category for providing invaluable contributions as a team captain, club committee member and coach at Corby Town TTC. Mia’s support of the Head Coach at sessions, support for the Chair at committee meetings, and support and organisation of her team for local league matches did not go unrecognised and she has grown into the roles considerably in a short period of time. She is of real value to the club, the league and the county and to table tennis as a whole.

Or perhaps you know a Young Volunteer like Tom Scard, who picked up the Young Male Volunteer of the Year award in March this year.

Tom, who leads on the Junior sections on behalf of the Salisbury Table Tennis Association was able to grow the junior player base, which resulted in two full junior teams being entered into the local Salisbury league, the first time in the leagues 91-year history. Tom’s selfless support and maturity beyond his years has enabled the development of junior players in his area.

The Young Male/Female Volunteer of the Year Award recognises a person under 25 years of age for their dedication, commitment, or impact in/on table tennis on a voluntary basis over the past 12 months. This may take place in a club, local community, league, county, schools county, regional or national level and includes those young people involved in coaching and/or officiating.

If you know an inspirational Young Volunteer who is worthy of a Pride of Table Tennis Award, now is the time to nominate them! Each person nominated will receive a certificate and be put forward to the regional awards.

Nominations close at 11:59pm on Monday January 22 – we are also inviting nominations in the Volunteer of the Year (Male and Female), Contribution to Table Tennis and Lifetime Achievement Awards.
