A number of medallists from the Butterfly Schools Finals and the Mark Bates Ltd Cadet, U17 & Junior Nationals have been named in the England squad for the Senior Schools International.

A squad of 24 boys and girls will compete across three age groups in the tournament at the University of Galway in Ireland from Friday June 23 to Sunday June 25.

As well as England and the host nation, teams from Scotland, Wales, Jersey, Guernsey and the Isle of Man will compete at under-14, under-16 and under-18 levels, with team competitions on the Friday and Saturday and singles on the Sunday.

Three champions from last weekend’s Nationals – Erin Green, Anna Green and Mabel Shute – are in the line-up.

Sisters Erin and Anna together won the Junior Girls’ Doubles, while Erin and her brother Connor took the Junior Mixed Doubles. Mabel was Under-17 Girls’ Doubles gold medallist alongside Ella Pashley.

Fellow Nationals medallists Saskia Key, Beth Ellis, Rhys Davies and Adam Dennison also make the squad.

Among the Butterfly Schools Individual medallists selected are under-13 champions Brooke Morris and Aarif Li, under-19 silver medallists Davies and Key, under-16 runner-up Joseph Cooper and under-13 silver medallists Pablo Ramirez-Rioja and Kelly Ng. Bronze medallists Erin Green, Megan Jones, Krish Chotai, Hugo Nguyen and Esther Lam are also included.

Players selected for the ISF World Schools Gymnasiade are not eligible to compete at the Senior Schools International.
