Today is International Volunteer Day, so we thought we’d celebrate all the amazing volunteers in our sport – and let you know how you can get involved too!
We are lucky to have so many volunteers in our sport who give their time, expertise and enthusiasm to help others to enjoy and achieve in table tennis.
Whether their role is at local, area or national level, or in social or competitive table tennis, they are the lifeblood of our sport.

Pride of Table Tennis Awards
Every year, we honour these unsung heroes through the Pride of Table Tennis Awards – and nominations for this year’s awards are now OPEN!
Anyone can nominate in four categories: Volunteer of the Year and Young Volunteer of the Year – both of which will have male and female winners – plus Contribution to Table Tennis and the Lifetime Achievement Award.
Get involved in volunteering
We currently have exciting opportunities to volunteer at two major events in the New Year. We will shortly be announcing voluntary roles on offer at the WTT Feeder Manchester from February 1-4, including stewards, liaison staff, activity ambassadors and technical support.
If you are excited to become a WTT Feeder volunteer and be involved in international events, please complete this expression of interest form and we will be in touch.
Just a few weeks after the Feeder, from March 22-24, comes the showpiece of English table tennis, the Mark Bates Ltd National Championships. We are looking for volunteers to play a vital role in making this flagship event even better.
To find out what roles are on offer click HERE. The deadline for applying for roles is Friday January 5.
We are also currently looking for Local Organising Group members across our Area Network.
Local Organising Groups are made up of passionate and knowledgeable people designed to help, advise, inform and support the Area Manager in delivering the priorities of Table Tennis United. We are looking for proactive people from the local table tennis community to join the Groups.
Become an ambassador
Table Tennis England has launched the Women & Girls Ambassador and Young Ambassador programmes to provide an opportunity for volunteers and clubs to work together to get more people into table tennis.
