Table tennis coaches are encouraged to apply to join training camps in the next few months in preparation for next year’s Invictus Games – which could lead to a role at the Games themselves.

The Games are held every two years with the aim of inspiring recovery support, rehabilitation and the understanding of wounded, injured and sick service men and women.

They will be held in Dusseldorf in September 2023, which will be the first time table tennis has been introduced at the Games.

Ahead of the Games, three training camps are planned to help athletes prepare, and a head coach and an assistant coach are needed at each camp to help support the athletes and sessions.

From the coaches that attend, one will be selected by the Royal British Legion to accompany the athletes to Germany for the Games.

The location and dates of the camps are:

  • 26-27 November
Lilleshall National Sports Centre and Conferencing Centre, Lilleshall, Newport TF10 9AT
  • 10-11 December
    Mill Rd, Gillingham, ME7 1HF
  • 17-18 December
    Epinal Way, Loughborough LE11 3TU

If you would like to apply then please click here and create a new account, from there you will be able to make an application. Once you have submitted your application you will need to go back into the system and add yourself to the waitlist for the camps you would like to attend.

Coaches can only add camps which their sports are taking place at. Accommodation will be provided on the Friday and Saturday nights, and participants are required to attend both days of the training camp.

The selection of the coach who will go to the Games will take place in February.
