It’s day one of the Mark Bates Ltd Cadet & Under-17 National Championships at David Ross Sports Village in Nottingham.
The Under-17s are in action today, with champions to be crowned in Boys’ Singles, Girls’ Singles and three doubles competitions.

11.30am: Girls’ Group 5 – top two Eva Eccles and Calina Dawson go through with few alarms; Girls’ Group 8 –Alyssa Nguyen upsets Millie Noble as the order of the top two ranked players is reversed. It was 3-1 (11-7, 11-7, 4-11, 11-7) in their match-up.
11.27am: Girls’ Group 3 – The younger Rahmani-Walentynska sister, Serene, is through as runner-up behind top-ranked Catherine Lvz. Serene beat Isabella Hamer 3-2 (5-11, 8-11, 11-6, 11-4, 11-4) to seal second place.
11.25am: Girls’ Group 4 – Soraya Rahmani-Walentynska tops the group but had to come from 2-0 down to beat Maisha Patel 3-2 (7-11, 3-11, 11-8, 11-5, 11-6). Patel through as runner-up.
11.20am: Girls’ Group 2 – Brooke Morris safely through, with Millie Ufton getting above second-ranked Jessica Tansur to go through as runner-up.
11am: Boys’ Group 8 – A three-player group with Aarav Parihar not playing. Prayrit Ahluwalia tops the group with Hassan Damji second. Ahluwalia had to come from 2-0 down to beat Shahuraj Nimse 3-2 (8-11, 8-11, 11-9, 11-7, 11-2), while Damji also beat Nimse in five – 7-11, 11-8, 11-9, 5-11, 14-12), saving one match point.
9am: Group stages get under way in the two singles competitions.
