Sam Walker is into the quarter-finals of the WTT Feeder event in Dusseldorf after two victories today over German opponents.

The England No 3, who is the eighth seed at the event, first beat Tobias Hippler in four straight in the last 32 and then knocked out Kilian Ort in the last 16.

Walker needed five games in that second match but was in control most of the way, apart from the third game and then having to fight hard to complete the win in the fifth – he led 10-7 and had four more match points before claiming it 15-13.

Walker next faces Alberto Mino of Ecuador, the third seed and world No 76, who came from 3-0 down to defeat Amin Ahmadian of Iran (WR 201) 4-3.

Louis Price is the only other English player in the field and the Bristolian teenager was defeated in four straight by Mahmoud Helmy of Egypt (WR 330) in the last 64.
