24 year groups of students up and down the country have been practising and honing their table tennis skills at school through completing challenges within the TT Kidz Virtual Schools Championship.

The competition, which began in April 2021, supported schools catering for seven-to-13-year-olds to offer table tennis activities to their students through fun, engaging and inspiring activities. Schools that participated in the competition entered academic year groups to compete as teams for the opportunity to be crowned national champions.

Each national champion school will receive a free one-year subscription to Table Tennis England’s Schools Plus membership, which supports schools with exclusive offers of equipment packages, training courses and more. Table Tennis England School’s Officer, Keegan Barstow said:

“The TT Kidz Virtual Schools Championship has allowed a great opportunity for schools to keep young people active throughout the pandemic. The challenges offered within the competition were designed to be inclusive for all ages and abilities to allow everyone a chance to take part in table tennis from the safety of their school.

“Alongside the competition we’ve also had some fantastic creative works submitted by school students for our ‘Design a t-shirt’ competition. Our team are currently selecting a winning design to be manufactured and offered publically through the TT Kidz website.”
