All you need to know about the Jack Petchey London Schools’ Championships
Alongside the prestigious London Schools' Championships, new for 2026/27 are Development Competitions to support new participants to take part in the sport.
London Schools' Championships
The Jack Petchey London Schools' Championships is a prestigious event aimed at increasing participation and awareness of table tennis in schools within London and Essex.
There are two championships throughout each year – Individual and Team Championships – which are open to boys and girls at Under 11, 13, 16 & 19 age groups. We aim to encourage more participants to play within the competitions each year, ensuring that every school in London and Essex has the opportunity to attend a county qualifier. Central London

The organisation of these competitions is based on six Jack Petchey Areas – North London, East London, South London, West London, Central London and Essex. There is a County Secretary in each of these areas, who run the two qualifier competitions.

Development Competitions
Aimed at getting new participants involved in table tennis, Development Competitions are new for 2026/27 season and will have a participation focus and be designed to support player development as well as competitive play.
Whether a school that is new to table tennis, looking to provide table tennis opportunities to more pupils or a youth group looking to enter a team into a competition, Development Competitions are a great way to explore table tennis competitions on a smaller and less competitive level than the Schools' Competitions.
Autumn Term
