England’s only representative at the WTT Youth Star Contender in Lisbon, Connor Green, had a positive competition both in the U15 boy’s singles and U15 boy’s doubles.

Green got off to a great start in the singles, with a confident 3-0 win over France’s Antoine Jean Christian Noirault 3-0 (11-5, 11-9, 11-7).

However, he was pushed out of the group with very tight losses to both Martin Sip of the Czech Republic 2-3 (9-11, 13-11, 11-7, 8-11, 9-11) and Martin Froseth of Norway 1-3 (10-12, 4-11, 11-7, 9-11).

Green teamed up with Spain’s Hugo Uquizar, winning 3-1 in the round of 16 against Russian pair Serafim Orlov and Ilia Koniukhov. Although, in the quarter-finals they were convincingly beaten 3-0 by Spanish duo Balazs Lei and David Szantosi.
