Liam Pitchford went out of the Singapore Smash at the hands of world no 11 Qiu Dang of Germany – but he and Paul Drinkhall still have a last-16 tie to come.

Pitchford had pushed his opponent, the reigning European champion, to a deciding game at the Europe Top 16 last month, but this time found it much harder going as Dang won in three straight.

Pitchford & Drinkhall are in action at 11.40am UK time on Tuesday, when they face Jakub Dyjas (POL) & Cedric Nuytinck (BEL) in the last 16 of the Men’s Doubles.

The match is on Table 3 – follow on the WTT YouTube channel.
