David McBeath was in top form at third week of Major League Table Tennis (MLTT), with three singles victories out of three.
His Texas Smash team – now coached by Paul Drinkhall – took on Florida Crocs in the first fixture of the weekend, held at Pleasantville, New York.

Although Crocs won 14-7 overall, McBeath defeated Marc Duran 2-1 (11-9, 7-11, 11-6) in the fourth and final singles match. He was edged 3-5 by Angel Naranjo in the golden game, which Crocs won 21-16.
Smash picked up their first win on day two, defeating New York Slice 14-7. McBeath’s contribution was defeating Mohamed El Beialy 2-1 (8-11, 11-8, 11-7), again in the fourth singles. He was on the right side of a 6-2 margin against Yiran Wu in the golden game, which Smash won 21-19.
On the final day, Smash defeated Atlanta Blazers 17-4. McBeath this time played the doubles, which is the third match of each fixture, and along with Senura Silva in doubles beat Kayama Yu & Jiwei Xia 2-1 (7-11, 11-6, 11-7).
He then beat Woojin Kim 2-1 (11-10, 7-11, 11-10) in the third singles match and although Kim finished 5-3 up when they met again in the golden game, Smash took it 21-20 to complete an emphatic victory.
Smash are second in the West division, behind unbeaten Bay Area Blasters, and next feature on Week 4, beginning on 30 October, up against Chicago Wind, Carolina Gold Rush and Atlanta Blazers.
