English players picked up a total of seven medals at the Sweden Tour event in Helsingborg, led by golds for Tom Jarvis and Abraham Sellado.

Jarvis was victor in the Men’s Elite category, defeating Sweden’s Par Gerell 3-0 (11-8, 12-10, 11-9) in the final.

Jarvis had defeated compatriot Toby Ellis 3-0 (11-6, 11-3, 11-9) in the round of 64 and was twice taken to a decider, including coming from 2-0 down to beat Sweden’s Martin Friis 3-2 (10-12, 7-11, 11-5, 11-7, 13-11) in the last 16. He also beat Simon Arvidsson in five in the quarters.

The rest of the English contingent in the Men’s Elite category comprised Ben Piggott, Thomis and Larry Trumpauskas, who all went out in the last 64.

Sellado continued his good form from the Europe Youth Series in Serbia as he won the Under-13 Boys’ class, defeating Swede Emil Ellermann 3-0 (11-2, 20-18, 11-9) in the final.

Sellado also earned a bronze medal for reaching the semi-finals of the Under-14 Boys’ Singles, where he lost to top seed Emil Gjorling 3-2 (11-4, 8-11, 8-11, 11-6, 11-7). Max Radiven reached the last 16.

Felix Thomis and Ella Pashley both returned with silver medals – Thomis in the Band 1 (max 2500 pts) category, where he lost 3-1 (5-11, 11-7, 11-8, 11-4) to Simon Bergenblock, and Pashley in the Under-16 Girls’ singles as she lost in the final to top seed Siri Benjegard by a close 3-0 (14-12, 11-8, 12-10) scoreline.

There was a bronze medal for Pashley in the Under-20 Women’s event and also for Isaac Kingham in the Under-16 Boys’ competition.

In the Women’s Elite category, Scarlett Anders reached the last 16. The Under-20 Men’s saw Piggott reach the last 16, Thomis and Trumpauskas get to the last 32 and Radiven, Kingham and Ellis go out in the round of 64.

Anders reached the last 16 of the Under-20 Women’s class, while Anna Green reached the last 32.

In the Band 1 event, Gabriel Schogger reached the last 16 and Trumpauskas and Kingham the last 32. In the Boy’s U18, Trumpauskas, Thomis, Ellis and Piggott got to the last 32 and Schogger, Radvien and Kingham the last 64. At the same level in the girls’ competitions, Anders was a quarter-finalist, Pashley reached the last 16 and Green the last 32.

Trumpauskas just missed a medal in the under-16s, reaching the quarters, while Sellado and Radiven got to the last 32.
