Dimitar Dimitrov reached the semi-finals at the WTT Youth Contender Senec in Slovakia, where his run was ended by the top seed.

Dimitrov finished second in his group in the Under-11 Boys’ Singles with three wins from four, losing out 11-9 in the fifth in his other match to group winner Oleg Yakolev of Kazakhstan.

He got through the quarter-finals with a four-game victory over Sung Chen from Austria, but was beaten by top seed Alexander Malov of Spain in three in the semis.

In the Under-15 Boys’ Singles, Rohan Dani won both his group matches to get through to the round of 64, where he defeated France’s Nolan Johnston in three close games.

He faced another French athlete, Sandro Cavaille, in the last 32, and went out in three to an opponent ranked more than 170 places above him in the junior world rankings.

In the older age groups, Dani and Dimitrov went out in the group stages of the under-17s and under-13s respectively.
