ourses, and exciting new initiatives all aimed at improving the sport and empowering communities across the country. From grassroots development to high-level coaching, we’ve seen fantastic progress in various areas of the sport. Here’s a roundup of the highlights:
Brighton’s New Venue – A Big Step Forward
One of the most exciting developments this month was the opening of Brighton Table Tennis Club’s second venue! As mentioned in this article, Brighton’s new space promises to be a hub of activity, bringing more people into the sport and increasing participation opportunities. With a growing community of players, this new venue is set to enhance the local table tennis scene, offering better facilities and greater access to the sport. For anyone in the Brighton area, this is an exciting step forward, and it’s thrilling to see how the local community will grow from this!

Coaching the Whole Player at Worthing Table Tennis Club
A big part of growing the sport is ensuring coaches are equipped with the tools to develop players both on and off the table. This month, I had the pleasure of delivering the Coaching the Whole Player CPD course at Worthing Table Tennis Club. The course, which focused on the 5Cs (Character, Communication, Commitment, Confidence, and Competence), aims to develop not just better players, but better people. The feedback from the attendees was overwhelmingly positive, and it’s inspiring to know that more coaches are now equipped to foster holistic development in their players. Check out the full details of the course in this Table Tennis England article.

Activator Courses Empowering Communities
Another fantastic initiative this month has been the Activator courses aimed at teachers and community leaders. I had the privilege of delivering a couple of bespoke Activator courses: one for teachers in Brighton and another for Everyone Active’s community programs through the Ping in the Community initiative. These courses are designed to equip individuals with the skills they need to inspire and engage others in the sport, helping to create new pathways for involvement in table tennis across communities. Read more about how these courses are empowering communities in this article.

Looking Ahead
Looking forward, it’s clear that the momentum in the world of table tennis is only going to increase. From expanding facilities to training the next generation of coaches and leaders, there’s so much to be excited about. We’re seeing a growing commitment to inclusivity, skill development, and community engagement that is bound to have a lasting impact on the sport.
If you haven’t already, be sure to check out these incredible initiatives, and stay tuned for more updates as the journey to empower communities and elevate the sport of table tennis continues!
